Description:
Linda M. Williams reports five distinct case studies of women with recovered memories of abuse which are corroborated by hospital records from the time of the incidents. The first case is that of "Mary," who reported having forgotten about an incidence of sexual assault by a neighbor which occurred at the age of 3. "She told the interviewer that she had totally forgotten about the incident until, at age nine, she was frightened by a man who looked like the perpetrator" (Williams 1995).
