Linda M. Williams reports five distinct case studies of women with recovered memories of abuse which are corroborated by hospital records from the time of the incidents. The fifth case is that of "Tanya," who was sexually assaulted by her mother's boyfriend at age 8 and reported having forgotten about the abuse from about age 16 or 17 until age 24. "At the time of recall, she was married and reports that she was sitting on the couch with their daughter and husbandd watching a movie about child sexual abuse. She said, 'it all suddenly came back to me'" (Williams 1995).
