A case documented by Daphne Hewson

Type of Case: Clinical

Corroboration: Confession by Perpetrator

Publication Location: NATO Advanced Study Institute on Recollections of Trauma

Related Cases: A case documented by Miriam Bendiksen, A case documented by Graham Davies and Noelle Robertson

Description:

Three separate clinical cases of corroborated recovered memory were reported in the 1996 poster session at the proceedings of the NATO Advanced Study Institute on Recollections of Trauma (June 1996; Port de Bourgenay, France). The third case was reported by Daphne Hewson in her presentation “The Process of Recovering Memories of Abuse." Though many cases of recovered memory are reported in her presentation, one stands out in particular for having been recovered using "active memory recovery methods" and having been corroborated by a perpetrator confession.
