Commonwealth v. Smith was a 1990 felony criminal case from Virginia, in which Landon Carter Smith plead guilty to the sexual abuse of his daughter. Dulaney Collins first began recovering memories of the abuse while she was hospitalized in 1984. Smith’s guilty plea serves as corroboration for Collins’ memories; he was placed on lifetime parole and ordered by the court to have no further contact with his daughter.
